For over 20 years, the Français interactif online textbook and its companion website Tex’s French Grammar have provided French language learners with a free high-quality language curriculum.
This project will update and modernize the Français interactif curriculum, and will include the following improvements:
- A new website platform (the online publisher, Pressbooks) for all the FI chapters
- Integrated grammar pages (no more links to the sister site, Tex’s French Grammar)
- Modernized vocabulary lists with individual audio recordings for each word, practice activities, and integrated flashcards
- Updated character illustrations and storylines
- Broader representations of the French-speaking world
- Revised “Testez-vous” activities
Over the next few years, the new website will additionally include videos filmed abroad, more comprehensible input (readings and videos), and updated Activités chansons and Activités internet. Lesson plans, tests, and quizzes will also be shared with educators.
