{"id":1805,"date":"2026-01-05T21:12:36","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T21:12:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coerll.utexas.edu\/coerll\/?post_type=project&#038;p=1805"},"modified":"2026-01-05T21:19:48","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T21:19:48","slug":"a-new-francais-interactif","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/coerll.utexas.edu\/coerll\/project\/a-new-francais-interactif\/","title":{"rendered":"Fran\u00e7ais interactif: Modernization and Revamp of an Open-Source French Curriculum"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For over 20 years, the <em>Fran\u00e7ais interactif<\/em> online textbook and its companion website <em>Tex&#8217;s French Gramma<\/em>r have provided French language learners with a free high-quality language curriculum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This project will update and modernize the <em>Fran\u00e7ais interactif<\/em> curriculum, and will include the following improvements: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A new website platform (the online publisher, Pressbooks) for all the FI chapters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrated grammar pages (no more links to the sister site, Tex\u2019s French Grammar)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Modernized vocabulary lists with individual audio recordings for each word, practice activities, and integrated flashcards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Updated character illustrations and storylines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Broader representations of the French-speaking world<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Revised \u201cTestez-vous&#8221; activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the next few years, the new website will additionally include videos filmed abroad, more comprehensible input (readings and videos), and updated <em>Activit\u00e9s chansons<\/em> and <em>Activit\u00e9s internet. <\/em>Lesson plans, tests, and quizzes will also be shared with educators.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"inline_featured_image":false},"grant":[72],"class_list":["post-1805","project","type-project","status-publish","hentry","grant-ut-austin-oer"],"acf":{"project_directors":[{"project_director_name":"Morgane Haesen","project_director_link":"https:\/\/liberalarts.utexas.edu\/frenchitalian\/faculty\/mh63989"}],"partners":[{"partner_name":"UT Austin Department of French and Italian","partner_link":"https:\/\/liberalarts.utexas.edu\/frenchitalian\/"}],"start_year":2024,"end_year":"","link":"","project_resources":[{"resource_link":{"title":"Fran\u00e7ais interactif (Original Version)","url":"https:\/\/laits.utexas.edu\/fi\/","target":"_blank"}},{"resource_link":{"title":"Tex's French Grammar (Original Version)","url":"https:\/\/laits.utexas.edu\/tex\/","target":"_blank"}},{"resource_link":{"title":"FI YouTube Channel","url":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@Fran%C3%A7aisinteractif-g7r","target":"_blank"}},{"resource_link":{"title":"FI Facebook Page","url":"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/francais.interactif","target":"_blank"}}],"related_oer":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/coerll.utexas.edu\/coerll\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/project\/1805","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/coerll.utexas.edu\/coerll\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/project"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/coerll.utexas.edu\/coerll\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/project"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/coerll.utexas.edu\/coerll\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1805"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"grant","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/coerll.utexas.edu\/coerll\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/grant?post=1805"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
